so that your marriage can move seamlessly from ceremony into celebration.

Function Rooms & Suites
Common Room
The Common Room is ideally suited for civil marriage ceremonies and smaller wedding
receptions. It is finished with period features and specially woven carpeting that carries one of the original crests associated with the Hall. Good quality upholstered chairs are provided, but the Bride and Groom also have the option of arranging loose covers and bows to
accentuate the setting even further.
Drawing Room
The drawing room has been newly refurbished and features three large windows overlooking the gardens. The large period furniture and paintings provide the perfect settings for an intimate dining experience.
Eden Restaurant
The hotel’s restaurant is available for private dining and parties and wedding receptions seven days a week. It is situated on the first floor of the Hall and furnished in a traditional and opulent style. It has a raised platform area that is perfect for the placement of a top table
and the restaurant can seat from 50 to 80 covers and can accommodate 110 for an
evening reception.
The Monboucher
This beautiful suite has some fabulous original features, including huge marble fireplaces,
and large bay windows that overlook the garden. It is named in honour of the Monboucher family who were once resident at the Hall. With a timeless elegance it can comfortably
accommodate a minimum of 70 to a maximum of 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 140 for an evening reception.
Shafto Hall
A magnificent suite complemented by oak panelling, stained glass windows and minstrels’ gallery. The large hand – carved fireplace depicts some of the historical crests of prominent families who have lived at the Hall. High ceilings and
decorative plaster features enhance the grandeur of the
setting and the suite can seat a minimum of 80 to a
maximum of 160 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 180 for an evening reception.
Winter Garden
Following a complete refurbishment the original Winter Garden re-opened as an additional facility in January 2005. This spectacular, light and airy space is one of the
largest function suites in the region and provides a
completely unique venue for weddings, black tie balls and parties. The Winter Garden can accommodate a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 280 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 300 for an evening reception.

Points To Note
An appointment will be made in advance of the reception to discuss final details.
A pro forma invoice will be raised after the appointment and the final payment is required eight weeks prior to the event.
Confirmation of final numbers is required two weeks prior to the event. Should you require the use of two function rooms, a room hire charge for the additional room will be applicable. Should the minimum guest number not be reached, an additional room hire will be charged.
Marriages
Beamish Hall is licensed for marriage ceremonies and can offer you a choice of locations within the Hall, to ideally suit the number of guests that you wish to attend.
Guidance Notes
The Registration and Marriage Acts require that all Civil Marriages are celebrated by a
Superintendent Registrar and registered by a Registrar of Marriages. The couple seeking to be married is responsible for booking and for paying the fees for the attendance of the
registration staff. No one else can do so on their behalf.
Couples seeking to be married at the Hall are required to give Notice of Marriage to:

Please note that couples are also required to give notice to the Superintendent Registrar for the
Registration District in which they live.
The civil ceremony must be held between the hours of
10.00 – 16.00.
Any readings, music or performance that forms part of the Civil Marriage Ceremony celebrated at the Hall must be non-religious in content. Please ask the Superintendent
Registrar for further details.
No food or drink (including alcohol) may be served or
consumed in the room where the wedding takes place for one hour prior to the ceremony, or during the ceremony itself.
The areas approved for the celebration of Civil Marriages
are the Common Room, State Room, Shafto Hall,
the Monboucher and Winter Garden.
The general public cannot be excluded from any Civil
Marriage Ceremony.
