“As we’re sure you’re already aware, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected all manner of events over the past 18 months and more.

“We’d hoped, and we’ve really tried to stage Terror in the Trees in 2021 but we’ve been tackling uncertainty at every stage and with such a large event requiring auditions, rehearsals and a complex set-up, it simply wasn’t possible and we’ve had to make the extremely difficult decision to postpone again until sometime in the future.

 “If you were kind enough to carry over your tickets to this year, you will receive a full refund within the next 30 days. You do not need to do anything.

“While we know this is disappointing news, we wanted to thank you for your patience while we’ve tried to make Terror in the Trees happen.

“This is an event we love hosting, and one that we know the 30,000 people who have visited over the years really love too.

“It’s an experience like no other in the North East, and we knew if we couldn’t do it perfectly, we couldn’t do it at all.

“We will continue to work hard to once again have Beamish Hall taken over by the creatures of the dark! When we do, you’ll be the first to know.”
